Fenbendazole is a broad-spectrum antiparasitic medication traditionally used in veterinary medicine to treat intestinal worms and protozoan infections in animals. Recently, it has gained attention for its potential use in humans, particularly for treating parasitic infections caused by organisms such as roundworms, hookworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and Giardia lamblia.

Fenbendazole works by disrupting the parasite’s ability to absorb nutrients, effectively starving and killing it. This mechanism makes it highly effective against a wide range of internal parasites. Although fenbendazole for humans is not yet approved by the FDA, some studies and anecdotal reports suggest it may be a safe and affordable option under medical supervision.

The drug’s low toxicity, broad effectiveness, and affordability make it an appealing subject of ongoing research. It has also been studied for potential anti-cancer properties, though this use remains experimental.
